This time of the year always reminds me of family. Entering the month of December, all of the family holidays are coming up. My family are big on food, so every time we get together you can expect there to be food and a lot of it. Usually, it’s a bit more like a feast and everyone leaves with a plate of food because we couldn’t possibly eat it all. While I was thinking about this the other day, it reminded me of a classic, family favorite that has stood the test of time – baked potatoes with sage!
These little pieces of pure perfection can be served with just about any sort of main dish or simply by themselves. Potatoes can be found in most parts of the world all year long, making this recipe perfect for any season. They can also be enjoyed as they are, or add your favorite dressing or dips. The possibilities are endless.
To make this recipe, you will need 4 ingredients and 45 minutes. Don’t be scared off by the time! It only takes 5 minutes to prepare this dish but you do need to bake them for a little while. I personally organize everything else I’m serving up with my potatoes in that time frame.
This side dish does contain a good amount of carbohydrates which sometimes tends to scare people off. Please don’t be. Carbohydrates, in moderate amounts, are actually good for our body! There is good news though! Potatoes are low in calories and are a good source of vitamin C and B6.
Hint: If you are concerned about carbs, consume your baked potatoes just after you have been to the gym or completed a workout – this is when your body burns the most carbs.

To store any leftover potatoes (although I highly doubt you will have any), simply pop them into an airtight container and place them into the fridge for up to 48 hours. You will only need to reheat them when ready to consume.
